NDIS & Centrelink navigation
NDIS and Centrelink navigation.
The paperwork is exhausting. The phone queues are long. The forms ask for information you have already provided three times. Banksia Care provides practical, experienced navigation support for families working through NDIS and Centrelink processes.
Understanding your options
NDIS-funded support coordination vs. private navigation.
NDIS-funded support coordination
Where a participant has Level 2 or Level 3 Support Coordination approved in their active NDIS plan, official coordination work is claimed directly from the NDIA in line with current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and consolidated NDIS Act 2013 Regulations.
View support coordinationPrivate navigation and admin support
Where coordination funding is absent, or for non-NDIS systems like Centrelink and the DSP, we offer a transparent, fee-for-service pathway. NDIS funding does not automatically cover private administration.

Claims, assessments and correspondence.
Disability Support Pension claims
Assistance preparing DSP claims, gathering supporting medical evidence, understanding the medical and work capacity criteria, and responding to Centrelink requests for further information.
Employment Services Assessment (ESAt)
Preparing for an ESAt, understanding what the assessor is looking at, and ensuring the assessment reflects the person's actual functional capacity rather than a good day.
Nominee arrangements
Assisting families to establish or update Centrelink correspondence nominee arrangements, so that correspondence goes to the right person and does not get lost.
Income and asset updates
Helping families understand reporting obligations, update income and asset information, and avoid overpayment situations that create debt.
Carer Payment and Carer Allowance
Guidance on Carer Payment and Carer Allowance eligibility, the care load assessment process, and what changes in circumstances need to be reported.
NDIS navigation
Plans, reviews and the bits in between.
Plan preparation
Helping participants and families prepare for planning meetings, identifying goals, gathering supporting evidence, understanding what to ask for and how to frame support needs clearly.
Plan reviews and reassessments
Preparing for scheduled plan reviews and unscheduled reassessments, including documentation of changed circumstances and functional capacity.
Provider and budget navigation
Understanding how to use plan funding, what each budget category covers, how to switch providers and what to do when funding runs out before the plan end date.
Complaints and escalation
Raising concerns with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, understanding the complaints process and knowing when a matter needs to go further.
Administrative Review Tribunal
Appealing a decision you disagree with.
If the NDIA or Centrelink has made a decision you believe is wrong, you have the right to seek a review. For NDIS decisions, this process runs through internal review first, then the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) if the internal review does not resolve the matter.
Banksia Care can guide families through the ART process, explaining what the Tribunal considers, what evidence is most useful, how to prepare a statement and what to expect at a hearing. We have supported families through this process and understand how stressful it is.
We are honest about what we can and cannot do. Navigation support is not legal representation. For complex matters, we will tell you clearly when you need a lawyer or a registered NDIS advocate, and we can help you find one.
Private fee-for-service
Private NDIS, DSP and Centrelink navigation.
Navigating government systems, organising paperwork, and deciphering complex letters can feel completely overwhelming. At Banksia Care, we believe you should not have to understand the system before asking for help.
Free advocacy alternatives
This administrative assistance is entirely optional. Free, government-funded independent advocacy pathways exist across Australia, and we are always happy to point you towards those free resources if you prefer.
